BOSS BITCH

7, 8 June 2022 | York Theatre Royal

We were excited to be commissioned by York Theatre Royal as part of Green Shoots 2022.

BOSS B***H was Bolshee’s performance debut. Working alongside music producer and songwriter, Kitsch (Elle Bennett) to create a banging verbatim score exploring the infamous statement made by influencer Molly-Mae Hague and celebrity nightmare Kim Kardashian, “that we all have the same 24 hours in a day as Beyonce.” The dance track was created by interviewing a diverse group of women about their lives and was brought to life and performed by our Associate Director, Lizzy Whynes.

Cue 5 minutes of female voices, beats and moves. Let’s challenge the toxic boss bitch narrative!

Listen up.

Commissioned by York Theatre Royal

Performer/Choreographer: Lizzy Whynes

Director: Paula Clark

Producer: Megan Bailey

Music Producer/Songwriter: Kitsch (Elle Bennett)

Boss Bitch performed the voice inside our head. Toxic positivity intercut with the worries of day to day life, and the worries of the future. Thoughts of striving to occupy every second of everyday with painful useless progress, all while dancing in sparkly pants because “what do you have to worry about?” Something’s got to give.”
